Shell will start production from its two offshore wells at West Nile Delta field 9B in the first half of October 2018, according to oil minister Tarek El Molla, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
The company will also finish drilling eight production wells and two exploratory wells in Q3 2019. By then, the project’s productivity will be 400 million cubic feet of gas per day and 3,000 barrels of condensates.
Drilling pace will be increase as Shell’s joint venture Rashpetco will announced a tender to bring in an extra drillship, Rashpetco’s head Hisham El Attar said. The deep water field will add 351 billion cubic feet of gas and from 3 to 4 million barrels of condensates to the country’s reserves.
