Uganda Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development on July 1, 2015 listed 19 companies that had expressed interest taking up licenses to explore for oil in the Albertine graben.
However, analysts have asserted that the nation’s oil and gas sector has failed to attract leading multinationals in the oil and gas industry. According to the observer newspaper, the presence of only “junior companies” on the list of applicants suggests glaring realities that sector has not lived to attract huge capital investments from key industrial players.
