A Scottish oil and gas delegation is visiting Nigeria this week with a view to forming partnerships
Scottish Development International is leading the delegation and the participants are aiming to achieve a solid understanding of Nigerian market conditions as well as seeking out potential local partners.
The delegation is participating in the Offshore West Africa conference and exhibition until 28 January. The SDI stand will be promoting the strengths of Scotland’s large oil and gas supply chain.
Gary Soper, SDI’s regional manager for Africa, said he is “delighted to be bringing such a large trade delegation from Scotland”. Sub-sectors that will be represented at the conference include education and training; subsea engineering; winches; electrical product distribution; well construction; engineering services; and remote communications technology.
Mr Soper said that among the delegation, there is a strong awareness of the need to address local content and local participation issues.
The organisations and companies represented in the SDI group include Peprime Limited, Plexus Ocean Systems Limited, Robert Gordon University, ACE Winches, and AGR Crummock.
